My husband was a Marine Corps officer stationed at Camp Pendleton when the POW's came home. He worked in the office of the Commanding General of the base, so we were invited to the ceremony Nixon had at the base. we met and talked to many of the POW's. Scuttlebutt was that Mc cain had cooperated with the Viet Cong. That it was how he survived. Hasn't anyone but me wondered why the son of an admiral and the grandson of an admiral didn't make the rank himself. Even if he was ready ro retire. Then he met Cindy and left his wife and children for the good life.
