On my local newsstand this morning I saw the covers of the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, and the Boston Globe. the ALL had the same photo of Obama speaking to thousands in Berlin. All I could think of was - can you imagine the rage that McCain must be feeling this morning?? The guy is like the invisible candidate. I delight in his angst.
In addition to his hot-headed anger problems, John McCain has a serious history of misogyny to deal with this campaign season. Kossack Geekesque has a diary on the recommend list today that outlines the worst of it - here's a choice quote:
Ask yourself what kind of man thinks the following 'joke' is funny:
In a DailyKos diary titled Unfit for duty: McCain physically assaulted foreign official in 1987, Kossack Geekesque recounts a tale from Thad Cochran about a meeting held with the Sandanistas in 1987, in which McCain got physical with an associate of Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega. The original story can be found here at MSNBC.com.
Does John McCain really have a bad temper? You bet your #!%$!#@!! a$$ he does!! They say music soothes the savage beast, but I don’t think everyone’s favorite septuagenarian presidential candidate will find this song very soothing…
DKos user timran has a diary on the recommend list today that highlights many of the instances of McCain's famous temper getting the better of him. Here's a few snips:
As former GOP Senator Rick Santorum put it, "Everybody has a McCain story." Over his tenure in Congress, McCain has had angry, expletive-laced exchanges with a number of his colleagues and peers,- both Democrat and Republican alike- many of which have been covered extensively by local Arizona and nationwide news sources. Below are the ten most notable among them.
In this election, we need to educate people to John McCain's various flip-flops - to help with that, please get a look at this line of t-shirts at zazzle.com:
Straight Talk - out of both sides of his mouth! I've started it off with three shirts, but there's plenty more ideas in all of McCain's long history of twisting with the wind on issues. Feel free to suggest some more in the comments!
Check out this video from the DNC for a snapshot of just how out of touch Angry John is with the concerns of middle America:
Today, there's a five page article at WashingtonPost.com entitled
McCain: A Question of Temperament
It doesn't go far enough, in my opinion, in that it doesn't use quotes that are readily available, but it does describe the man's temper in unequivocal terms. Here's a choice excerpt:
Wow, big doings in the world of John McCain's well-established temper. There's a book coming out soon which details an incident on the campaign trail in 1992, where Angry John lashed out at his wife, calling her a trollop and a cunt! Here's a snip from Raw Story:
Angry John sure is having a tough time keeping the players straight in Iraq - just yesterday he twisted the Sadr cease-fire into a pretzel, trying to label it as a loss for Sadr. Funny that he didn't have to disarm, and that Maliki asked him to declare it because he (Maliki) was getting his ass kicked!
Check out this clip from Countdown:
Politics sure ain't beanbag in Iraq, eh? If you need to soften up your opponent before the elections, send in troops backed by British tanks and American and British air power! If this is what the primaries are like, I shudder to think what election day will be like...
